It’s no secret that Tampa doesn’t exactly do fall. I mean we have an occasional day or two of the high being a whopping 75 degrees and that’s about it… until we get our random 40 degree winter day. With that being said, it doesn’t stop me from fall shopping even a little bit. In fact, it makes me crave it even more!! My sister just recently moved to Asheville, NC and needed help moving into her new house so what better time to break out some of those fall outfits… am I right!? Ok, I must admit… they were having what they call a “warm spell” so it wasn’t exactly the ideal temps we were hoping for. However, their warm is still wayyy cooler than our fall days so you know I broke out those sweaters, long sleeves, and my personal favorite… overalls. I’m really into this year’s selection of fall clothes. I don’t know if it’s because these holiday months are when I’m the most obnoxiously happy during the year or what, but I really feel like stores are stepping up their fashion game right now. Before we left, I did some last minute shopping. Here is a little sneak peek into my fall wardrobe that I brought on the trip.
Black fur slides. Ok…. I’m honestly obsessed. I was a little iffy when this trend first started but when I tried these on it was true love. The best part- I found mine on Amazon for only $14.99!! Paired with cropped mauve sweatshirt from Target (not pictured) and black camo high wasted work out leggings from Target.
Tan Cardigan. The perfect sweater to throw over an outfit on days when the weather fluctuates. Personally, I am ALWAYS cold so this purchase was a no-brainer. And the material….. if I hadn’t seen the price I would have mistaken it for cashmere. SO soft. I am also super into the duster cardigan look but didn’t find the perfect one yet so I went with this. $50 from BP Nordstrom. Paired with my black and white Brandy Melville dress (that I sometimes tie up to make a shirt) along with these Topshop “Dree” jeans and my black leather Steve Madden slides.
Black Leather slide on Loafers. Y’all… my favorite shoe right now. They seriously go with everything. I’m all for trends and looking cute but I’m not about to spend my entire life savings on a pair of Gucci slides. Don’t get me wrong… if I had the money to buy whatever I wanted when I wanted… you might find a pair in my closet. However, I find that I can find things that are just as cute if not cuter for less and, a lot of the time, they’re a lot comfier too. This is one of those shoes where the company continues the shoe due to its popularity as well as being on trend but alters it a little each year. During my time at Nordstrom this summer, I bought the newest pair that has a slightly different buckle in rose gold. I still knew I wanted a pair in black (but with the old buckle in gold) and wasn’t prepared to spend another $80 on the ones I found on Amazon. Fast forward to before my trip when I just so happened to go on Amazon again and they were on sale for only $45!!
Sweaters. A basic staple you need in your closet. They obviously come in a billion different textures, colors, and styles but here are some of my favorite cozy and trendy sweaters of the moment. Paired with my old H&M distressed jeans and these spotted Topshop slide sneakers.
Overalls. I’ve saved my favorite for last. (Contrary to my Instagram post caption) … every season is overalls season for me. I have about 5 pairs both long, short, and skirts that I flip flop between seasons. They are just so easy and so cute. These long ones are for sure my fave pair I own though. I got these about a year ago on ASOS and have been obsessed with them ever since. They are actually the right length for me which is extremely challenging to find with me only being 4’11 1/2. ASOS is perfect for any body type because they have sizes including regular, petite, tall, curvy, as well as maternity. Paired with this new black long sleeve mock neck shirt from Forever 21 *only $8.00!!* (similar here), and my fave Steve Madden loafer slides. This was the coldest day I was there and was shivering everywhere we went. I bought this new camo puffer jacket from Forever 21 thinking it wouldn’t leave my suitcase but was glad I bought it because it came in handy this day!!
Tampa’s first cold front is forecasted for next week… here’s to FINALLY having some sweater weather!!!
