Y’all. Let’s talk about the food scene in Asheville… because it is GOOD. I’ve visited my sister who recently moved up there twice in the past 3 months and have come home fuller, heavier, and happier each time. If you haven’t noticed, not only is Fashion close to my heart but FOOD. Food is truly the way to my heart. When visiting new places I’m all about researching the best places to go, the cutest/ trendiest restaurants, and of course finding the pictures of food that you know you’ll end up in a coma after eating. The variety of different types of food is what amazed me each time. Asian, Mexican, Southern style… you name it. Below I thought I’d share some of my latest and greatest restaurant finds in the Asheville area.
1. Over Easy Cafe
The perfect spot for Breakfast and Brunch. Everything on the menu sounds good. Yes. I mean everything. Try one of their Mimosas! But don’t be like me and forget to check the price.. personally wouldn’t spend another $10 on one. Don’t get me wrong it was good.. but $10 good? :/
2. Red Ginger Dim Sum & Tapas
If you like Noodles, Soups, and about 50 different options of steamed dumplings… this is the place for you. Probably one of my favorite meals of the trip.
3. French Broad Chocolates (aka the Chocolate Lounge)
Ummm ok. This place is the definition of #norAgrets. You have to go. Seriously like you will regret it if you don’t. It’s like walking into Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Endless options. Endless calories but hey, it’s called vacation for a reason right? Treat Yo self!!
4. Mama’s and Beer there’s also a Papa’s and Beer. Coincidence? Same owner? Who knows. But dang are they good.
This is a place that will make you never want to eat another meal again. Aren’t those the best? Save your appetite because everything is filling but SO so good.
5. Rockey’s Hot Chicken Shack
Last, but certainly not least is this beauty. Don’t let the name fool you… it is not the sketchy place that it sounds. Since half my family is from the Deep South, southern food has always been a fan favorite in the fam. I never really understood the obsession until this place. Y’all… it’s that good. Fried chicken, collard greens, fried okra, Mac n cheese, and THE BISCUITS. I imagine them to be what heaven looks like. It’s a must go for sure.
