Here’s to a little Wednesday night pick me up. Recently, a company called “Pieces of Me” reached out to me about their jewelry. I went on their website and thought their products were cute but it’s what’s behind them that really caught my eye.
The company actually started as a college project, coming up with symbols or icons for different words that others used to describe the founder of the company. She then realized that by doing so, she had found a way to show off a woman’s unique personality, as well as their individuality.
I really connected with this story because as I finish my last couple of semesters in college, I am continually dreaming, challenging myself, doubting, and trying to envision my future. At an age where anything is possible… your life is right in front of you, it is quite normal to worry and doubt yourself.
For as long as I can remember, the number one critique I’ve ever gotten from a tutor, a dance teacher, a professor, a friend, and even my family is to have more confidence in myself. It’s something that I have constantly struggled with and something that I will probably continue to struggle with my entire life.
Because of this, I chose their “Confident” bracelet in gold to always have something to remember to believe in myself. I love the idea of having a little reminder each day when I look down that says hey… you’re killin it. You’re working hard, you’re dreaming big dreams and you’re chasing them. Be confident. You got this. In the words of a very wise Demi Lovato, “what’s wrong with bein, what’s wrong with bein, what’s wrong with bein confident? Oh oh oh”
If you’re like me, and you need a little reminder sometimes whether it be for confidence, to dream, to work hard, or even to be a little sassy… check Pieces of Me out. #youmeanmore than that little voice inside your head. You are you, you are beautiful, and you are unique. Celebrate it!!
