As I write this, I’m sitting with my cute little 87 year old Papa in the hospital. *Spoiler alert* he was the one that was hospitalized when we were away in Texas. It has been a crazy few days since then, but he is currently ok and we are running tests to figure out a few different issues.
Today I want to talk all things Austin and how fun of a city it is!! Having never been to Texas, I didn’t know what to expect in each city. I have a few close friends from Austin and always pictured it as a cute little town. Boy was I wrong. While it is very cute, Austin is HUGE. Like seriously so big. With lots of traffic… BUT, it’s a very musical and artsy town which I absolutely loved.
( Red sundress, Red Sunnies )
We stayed at the Austin Motel which is a famous little boutique motel right next to the also famous, Jo’s coffee. We’d wake up in my dream retro red lip wallpaper and yellow leather bed room and head next door for some coffee and breakfast burritos. I mean… talk about the perfect vacay.

The Austin Motel sits on South Congress, a main and very popular drag that has tons of trendy and vintage shops and restaurants all along it! There are even multiple cowboy boot stores!!! Take it from me… do NOT touch them. You WILL get yelled at. (Mom🙄).
We only were in town for about 2 days but between the shops, motel, and breakfast burritos, we also visited East Austin Succulent aka a plant lady’s dream, Voodoo Doughnut, Torchy’s Tacos (my kind of dreams) and Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center.
Austin was the perfect town to hear some live music and feel like you’re deep in the south of Texas. If you visit, I highly recommend every place I mentioned above!!!
